Evening Programs

Our beautiful outdoors amphitheater sits on the edge of the lake and includes a large camp fire pit. With a roaring camp fire as a backdrop, Naturalists entertain with songs, skits, and stories. A rendition of Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax can be added upon request. Note: this is not a marshmallow roast. If you would like that added, we can provide the marshmallows and let the campfire burn after the Naturalists leave. Please speak with the Greenkill Director for more info. Based on conditions, this activity can be modified to be held indoors.

Dutch Auction

A fun and engaging activity in which groups race to earn the most points by using creativity, ingenuity, and luck to impress the instructors. Tasks can include anything from making a Halloween costume to impersonating their Naturalist.

Night Walk

Students will learn about different animal adaptations that allow them to thrive at night as well as human biological adaptations such as night vision, heightened senses, etc. These fun activities are conducted in the dark; it is not a hike, but rather a walk to a specific location where students participate in activities.

Guest Presenters

We welcome a variety of local historians, entertainers, and story tellers to enhance your visit.  These options must be booked at time of contracting.  Fees range from $400-$500.

Birds of Prey
Fascinating World of Reptiles
A Touch of Nature Live
Living History (Revolutionary War, Lewis & Clark, etc.)
Dance Party with DJ (Line, Square, etc.)

Field House

Open gym time in our 17,000 square foot field house can be scheduled in the evenings.  Under teacher supervision, students can enjoy basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, ga ga, and more.

While not a program, we are delighted to open the Greenkill Store in the evenings, allowing students and teachers to purchase souvenirs of their visit.
