Health Center

The Greenkill Health Center is available to all visiting school nurses. The Health Center, located beneath the Dining Hall, can be used by more than one school at a time. School nurses electing not to use the Health Center must inform the Program Director/Coordinators where their medications and health forms/emergency contact forms will be kept. If you choose not to use the Health Center, it is highly recommended that medications be kept in a locked location to ensure the safety of participants.

The Health Center is equipped with beds in an isolation room, a refrigerator, telephone, locked storage cabinets for medications, and basic medical supplies listed below.

  • Antiseptics
  • Benadryl pills, liquid, or spray
  • Caladryl lotion/gel
  • Chloraseptic throat spray

Hospital and Doctor Visits

In the event that an injury or illness requires a doctor’s care, we ask that you immediately inform our Program Director to ensure proper procedures are followed. If 911 is called, school officials must let the Program Director or a YMCA staff member know that emergency vehicles are arriving on property.

Insurance Option

Schools may opt to purchase medical insurance for students. Please contact us at 845-858-2200 or for more information.

Early Departures

Should a child need to leave the facility early for health or other reasons, please notify the Program Director or designee. No child is to be taken off property without the school leadership’s knowledge. Greenkill staff cannot release a student to a parent/guardian. This responsibility rests with the school.
