Program Extras

Horses and rafting and water skiing….Oh my! Whether your child wants to try one of these activities for the first time or devote more time to something they already love, we have just the thing! Any of the options below can be added to an already exciting week at camp for a modest additional charge. Some age and program restrictions apply.

Ranch Camp

For 7 to 15 year-olds–Camp McAlister & Talcott, $255 per session (in addition to regular camp fees)

Children at Ranch Camp will spend a half day, Monday through Thursday, with the same horse. Our highly-qualified staff teaches beginners and experienced riders skill development, grooming techniques, and how to properly feed and care for their horse. Boys and girls gain new horsemanship skills and a greater sense of responsibility. Please note that this is offered for only one week of a two week session.

Horseback Riding Lesson

For ages 7 and up–Open to all sleepaway, day, and specialty camp campers, $57 per lesson (in addition to regular camp fees).

An hour and a half introduction to horseback riding that may include a guided trail ride depending on camper’s skill level. Campers must weigh a minimum of 50 lbs and be 50″ or taller.

Water Ski Camp

For 12 to 15 year-olds–Camp Talcott, $255 per session (in addition to regular camp fees)

Water ski camp is designed for all levels, from beginning to advanced. Campers will spend half a day, Monday through Thursday, receiving water skiing and wake boarding lessons. Water Ski Camp accepts only six campers each session, allowing close one-on-one instruction and plentiful practice time on the water. Please note that this is offered for only one week of a two week session.

Water Ski Lesson

For ages 12 to 15 –Camp Talcott and Day Camp Campers, $52 per lesson (in additional to regular camp fees)

Enjoy a 1.5 hour introductory water ski lesson on our speed boat with trained instructors. Campers must pass a swim test.

White Water Rafting on the Delaware River

For ages 11-15 –Camp Talcott, $55 for day trip

Enjoy a day on the beautiful Delaware River, rafting class I-II rapids and, with any luck, catching sight of the bald eagles nesting nearby. No rafting experience necessary–our trained guides ensure a safe and very fun experience. Campers must pass a swim test to participate.
